When the Rapture Doesn’t Rapture: Mr. Joshua’s Bold Return

Updated: Sep 29

Well saints, buckle up your sandals. Mr. Joshua is back on the airwaves bold as a lion (or maybe a goat) and instead of quietly slipping into a cave to “be alone with the rapture,” he’s doubling down. That’s right. No sackcloth, no ashes, no “I missed it.” He’s announcing that his failed prediction was actually “all part of God’s plan.”

At first, some of us gave him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe, we thought, he was just a naïve brother caught up in “lying signs and wonders.” Maybe he sincerely believed his dream. But now? The picture is clearer. This isn’t a humble man realizing he misheard God; this is a man taking a proud, defiant stance against what clearly failed. At minimum, he is operating in pride; at worst, he’s functioning as a direct agent of Satan, intentionally deceiving and twisting Scripture. Either way, it’s dangerous.

Scripture warns us: “Let God be true and every man a liar” (Romans 3:4). When someone claims God said something that contradicts God’s Word, they’re not just wrong, they’re effectively calling God a liar. And God cannot lie. God is not confused, and His Word does not change. Jesus said plainly, “My sheep hear My voice, and another they will not follow” (John 10:27). So if you are following strange voices that contradict God’s Word, then you are not following the Shepherd and that means you are not His sheep.

And here is the sobering truth: Jesus Himself said that one day He will return and separate the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:32). If you find yourself on the wrong side of that line when He comes, it will be too late. The separation will be final.

Right now, we are already witnessing a foreshadowing, sheep being distinguished from goats. But here is the mercy of God: those who are goats still have time to turn back to Him. So do it while there is still time. Repent. Return to the Word. Follow the Shepherd’s voice. Because when Christ truly comes, there will be no more chances, only eternal separation.

Bamboozled by Dreams: What We’re Really Seeing

Many people today have been persuaded by lying dreams, false signs, and supposed wonders. I’ve even seen one man online claiming he saw license plates with the exact rapture date on them. Little children are being paraded with “visions,” multiple people are claiming dreams, and “confirmations” are popping up everywhere, all tied to the same prediction.

And yet, the rapture date came and went. The trumpet never sounded. But instead of stepping back and admitting the obvious, many were bamboozled, drawn in by Mr. Joshua, the man who spearheaded this entire movement. He positioned himself as the one with special revelation, claiming a dream or direct vision from Jesus Christ Himself. And even now, though the prediction failed in broad daylight, he and some of his followers are doubling down as if nothing collapsed, going so far as to create a new date, as if pushing the goalpost forward could turn a lie into the truth.

What God Already Said About This

Jeremiah 23:16–17 warns:

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They fill you with false hopes; they speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. They keep saying to those who despise me, “The Lord has said, You shall have peace,” and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart, they say, “No disaster shall come upon you.”’”

God told us plainly: do not listen to people who bring you “visions of their own minds.” False prophets peddle dreams that were never spoken by God.

And Jesus gave the same warning in Matthew 12:39:

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.”

Breaking It Down

  • The hunger for signs: People want spiritual “proof” so badly that they latch onto dreams, numbers, license plates, and anything that feels supernatural. But God is not in gimmicks; He is in truth.

  • False hopes: Jeremiah shows that false prophets “fill you with false hopes.” They give people excitement, but it’s a counterfeit fire.

  • The real sign: Jesus already gave us the greatest sign; His death, burial, and resurrection (the sign of Jonah). That is the only sign that saves. Everything else must bow to that truth.

  • Why this matters: When people follow a man’s dreams instead of God’s Word, they are not following the Shepherd. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and another they will not follow” (John 10:27).

  • The end of the line: Eventually Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:32). Right now there is still mercy, those who have followed false dreams can repent and return to Christ. But when He truly comes, the separation will be final.

Bottom Line

False prophets thrive because people are chasing signs instead of Scripture. Mr. Joshua may have spearheaded this failed movement, but the real issue is deeper, hearts hungry for signs instead of truth. The call is urgent: turn back to Christ and His Word while there is still time. Because when the Shepherd truly comes, only the sheep who know His voice will be gathered to Him.

So what do we do with Mr. Joshua? We pray. We pray that he’s not handed over to a reprobate mind because of his pride. We pray that he will repent and be restored, because delusion or deception, whichever it is, is a dangerous place to stand. We pray for those led astray, that their faith will remain in Christ and not in the visions of men.

Because here’s the truth: Christ’s plan never shifts, His words never wobble, and His sheep know His voice. If the trumpet doesn’t sound, it’s not because God missed His cue, it’s because the man with the microphone did.

Hold fast to Jesus. Love the Word. Pray for those deceived. And remember: the devil’s plan is always to scatter, confuse, and mock but Christ’s plan is always to save, guide, and keep His own.
